Contract Teachers of Tribhuvan University to be Made Permanent Through Internal Competition

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel has said that contract teachers of Tribhuvan University will be made permanent through internal competition. Last year, it was agreed to create internal competition between the TRI leadership and the agitating contract teachers.

At the general meeting of the Tribhuvan University Assembly today, he said, "I will arrange relief for those who are not successful in the competition and give them leave."

Stating that the university needs to move ahead with a concrete plan to make higher education timely, market oriented and competitive in the world market, he said that it should focus on manpower production by promoting study, research and regular reading.

He said that Tribhuvan University has been reducing the growing imbalance year by year, has done more than Rs 6 billion in the last one year and has done well in administrative and good governance.
