Education Minister: No recognition for party-affiliated unions
On Sunday, Minister of Education Mahabir Pun informed that the ministry has decided not to recognize various unions and organizations of teachers, professors, and employees.
Issuing a press release titled “Regarding Information and Attention Drawn,” Minister Pun made this announcement.
In the press release signed by Minister Pun, it is stated: “I inform that the ministry has decided not to recognize various unions and organizations of teachers, professors, and employees that are mentioned directly or indirectly in the statutes of various political parties as sister organizations or well-wisher institutions.”
He called for the reorganization, with appropriate legal provisions accordingly, of unions and organizations active in the education sector, including the Teachers’ Federation and the Professors’ Association, to make them non-political, independent, and professional in nature.
