
Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City has announced free engineering education for 40 girls. Under the “Educate Daughters” program, the city is investing in technical education, and Butwal Technical Institute has invited applications for the new intake.
Pre-Diploma Programs Offered
Applications are open for the following programs:

20 seats in Pre-Diploma in Electrical Engineering

20 seats in Pre-Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Girls who have completed SLC or SEE and are at least 16 years old are eligible to apply.
City’s Full Support for Education Expenses
Mayor Khilraj Pandey of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City stated that the program is part of the current fiscal year’s policy, program, and budget. The city will fully support all educational expenses under this initiative. He mentioned that the program will be implemented regularly starting this academic session.
According to Mayor Pandey, the aim is to empower girls in the technical field and produce skilled manpower. He said:
“There is a shortage of skilled manpower on one hand, and many want to gain skills on the other. For now, we have started this program in collaboration to cover the study costs for 40 girls.”
Future Plans for Program Expansion
The mayor shared that the city plans to continue the program regularly and introduce additional capacity-building programs in the future.

On Thursday, Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality organized a program to distribute scholarships to 50 students through a competitive process.

During the event, Chief Administrative Officer Tara Gyawali stated that this year’s scholarship announcement was made with a new provision—previous recipients are not eligible to receive the scholarship again.
