Gaurishankar Multiple Campus Dolakha Achieves QAA Certification

Gaurishankar Multiple Campus Dolakha Receives QAA Certification

Gaurishankar Multiple Campus, located in Charikot, Dolakha, has successfully obtained the Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) certification.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) awarded the certification upon recommendation from the Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council after the campus completed the QAA process.

Certificate Handed Over at a Ceremony in Kathmandu

The UGC officially presented the QAA certificate to the campus during a program held in Kathmandu. Chairperson of the Campus Management Committee, Amrit Raut, stated that the certificate is the result of ten years of persistent effort and that the institution will now focus more strongly on academic excellence in the coming years.

Future Plans for Academic and Infrastructural Expansion

Chairperson Raut further shared that with the QAA recognition now achieved—made possible by the long-standing efforts and support from local communities—the campus is planning to introduce additional programs and improve both its physical infrastructure and educational quality.

Commitment to Continued Cooperation

Raut also emphasized that the achievement was a result of collective cooperation and that the same collaborative spirit would be maintained going forward to achieve further progress.

Campus Chief Shantabahadur KC noted that the institution had aimed to obtain the QAA certification earlier. However, the process was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other technical issues. Despite the setbacks, the campus successfully completed the process.

A Milestone After Years of Effort

Chief KC stated, “We were disheartened for not securing QAA earlier. But after years of persistent effort, we have finally succeeded. Now is the time to celebrate.” He also mentioned that discussions are underway to introduce new academic disciplines in consultation with stakeholders.

KC added that it is now necessary for the campus to move forward more robustly to preserve the achievement and maintain its standards.

With QAA recognition in hand, the campus has opened the door to launch new academic programs. The administration also shared plans to introduce distinctive technical subjects that differ from those offered at other campuses.

Campus Background and Current Programs

Established in 1981 (2038 BS), Gaurishankar Multiple Campus currently has over 800 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Courses are offered under the faculties of Management, Humanities, and Education. At the undergraduate level, programs include BBS, BA, and B.Ed.
