Kathmandu University to Start Online Classes Immediately

Kathmandu University (KU) has decided to immediately begin online classes.

Earlier, due to the situation created by the ‘Gen Z’ movement, the university had prioritized the convenience and safety of students and decided to resume classes only after Chhath.

However, as the situation has normalized following the formation of the new government, the university has decided to conduct online classes effective immediately to ensure that the academic calendar of the current session is not disrupted. Online classes will also run during the period between Dashain and Tihar.

For this purpose, the university has instructed all school deans to make necessary arrangements for online classes. Each school will coordinate with its respective departments to manage the operation of these classes.

According to KU Associate Director Dr. Dinesh Kafle, physical classes will resume as per the pre-scheduled timetable after Chhath.

Meanwhile, to address the psychological impact on students caused by the recent political events, the university has also arranged counseling services. Students can schedule an appointment through the dean’s office of their respective schools and access counseling services via email or phone from psychologists designated by the university.
