Kishor Thapa Appointed Chairperson of Tribhuvan University Service Commission, Prof. Dr. Regina Maskey Appointed Member
Prime Minister and Tribhuvan University Chancellor Balendra Shah has appointed former Government of Nepal secretary and senior urban planner Kishor Thapa as chairperson of the university’s TU Service Commission. Similarly, Prof. Dr. Regina Maskey has been appointed as a member of the commission. Chancellor Shah appointed them on Wednesday.
According to university sources, these appointments were made with the objective of making Tribhuvan University’s Service Commission effective, transparent, and friendly to competent human resources.
Chancellor Shah appointed Thapa as chairperson based on the recommendation of the chairperson recommendation committee formed under the leadership of Pro-Chancellor Sasmit Pokharel, who is also the Minister for Education and Sports. The committee had called for applications from interested and qualified individuals for the post of Service Commission chairperson in the month of Jestha. After studying the applications received as per the prescribed process, evaluating qualifications, experience, leadership capacity, and performance, and conducting interviews, the committee recommended three names to the Chancellor.
Background of Newly Appointed Chairperson Thapa
Known as an architect and urban planner, Kishor Thapa has worked in various responsibilities in the Government of Nepal’s civil service for more than four decades. He previously served as secretary in bodies including the Ministry of Urban Development; Ministry of Education; Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; and the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission.
