Kathmandu Metropolitan City Honors Schools, Students and Teachers with Excellent Results in SEE 2082
The Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (Kathmandu Mahanagar) has honored community schools, students, and teachers within the metropolis who achieved excellent results in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) of the academic session 2082 with cash prizes.
Speaking at the honor program, KMC Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol said the metropolis is committed to producing skilled human resources by improving the academic quality of community schools. Informing that investment has been increased in infrastructure development, workforce, and human resource management for quality improvement, she said the contribution of teachers who encourage students is invaluable. She also mentioned that the metropolis is always ready to provide teachers with a dignified profession.
According to Education Department Chief Namraj Dhakal, this honor program, which had been stopped since 2079, has been continued again from this year. He informed that the metropolis is preparing to include schools, teachers, and students teaching and studying up to Grade 12 in the awards and honors from next year.
The details of the awards and honors provided in the program are as follows:
Students Scoring 4 GPA: Twenty-nine students from KMC community schools who secured 4 GPA were honored with Rs. 25,000 each.
Schools with 100 Percent Students Graded: Bal Sewa Secondary School, Jhochhen; Bal Byabasayi Kendra Secondary School, Sifal; Shram Rastriya Secondary School, Kumarigal; and Central School for the Deaf, Naxal, which succeeded in getting 100 percent of their students graded in the SEE examination, were awarded Rs. 25,000 each.
Subject-Wise Teacher Honor: Five teachers of compulsory subjects and four teachers of optional subjects who contributed to achieving excellent results were awarded Rs. 25,000 each.
Schools with the Best Average Standardized Score: Three community schools and three institutional schools that obtained the highest average standardized scores in this year’s SEE were honored. Under the community category, Gyanodaya Secondary School and Tarun Secondary School, which each obtained 3.29 points, and Bishwo Niketan Secondary School, which obtained 3.23 points, were awarded Rs. 100,000, Rs. 75,000, and Rs. 50,000 respectively.
At the program, honored Bal Sewa Secondary School Principal Manju Pathak said the recognition received from the metropolis had made them more responsible and enthusiastic toward educational activities. She also mentioned that KMC’s prestige is connected with the happiness of the school.
