Lumbini Technological University and Nepal Engineering Council Agreement
An agreement has been concluded to enable engineers graduating from universities in Nepal to receive global recognition for employment, study, and professional registration in line with the Washington Accord.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Lumbini Technological University and the Nepal Engineering Council. On behalf of the university, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Binod Prasad Dhakal, and on behalf of the Council, Chairperson Prof. Dr. Padma Bahadur Shahi, signed the agreement.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dhakal stated that this agreement has been reached between Lumbini Technological University and the Nepal Engineering Council as a result of the initiative taken by the Council.
During the signing, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Studies of the University, Dr. Niraj K. C., Registrar of the Council, Engineer Dhruba Raj Bhattarai, and others were present. The university, operated by the Lumbini Province Government in Nepalgunj, has been conducting teaching and learning activities under various programmes.
The university currently runs four bachelor’s level programmes: B. Tech in IT, B. Tech in CS and AI, B. Tech in Civil Engineering, and B. Tech in IT Engineering; and two master’s level programmes: M. Tech in IT and M. Tech in CS.
