Mahendra Secondary School Honors Asmita Pandey with Cash for Securing 4 GPA in SEE
Mahendra Secondary School, located in Tamghas, the district headquarters of Gulmi, has honored student Asmita Pandey with Rs. 100,000 in cash for securing a 4 GPA in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE)-2082.
Pandey, a resident of Chhatradev Rural Municipality-7, Arghakhanchi, secured a 4 GPA in SEE from Mahendra Secondary School, Tamghas. The school presented her with cash, a certificate, khada, and a medal.
According to the school’s Information Officer Shalikram Panthi, 80 students from the school participated in the SEE this year, of whom 68 passed. The school’s pass percentage is 85. As per the GPA group-wise details, 13 students secured GPAs from 3.6 to 3.99, 23 students secured GPAs from 3.2 to 3.59, 23 students secured GPAs from 2.8 to 3.19, and eight students secured GPAs from 2.4 to 2.79.
At the honor program, the school’s Principal Krishna Prasad Marasini said the result was achieved due to cooperation among the school, teachers, and parents. According to him, the science stream has been running at the school since 2057 BS, while education, management, and humanities streams at the 10+2 level have been running since 2065 BS.
Principal Marasini said students who studied at the school have reached senior positions in medical fields, the Public Service Commission, the Teachers Service Commission, the Nepali Army, and administrative services.
Pandey, who secured a 4 GPA, credited her success to the school, teachers, and parents. Having studied at the same school from early childhood development to Grade 10, she said the school’s disciplined academic environment, teachers’ guidance, and family support helped her achieve the result.
School Management Committee member Ghanshyam Pandey and Teachers-Parents Association Chairperson Yuvraj Bhandari emphasized that all sides should unite to develop the school further as a strong academic destination. Coordinator of the school’s advisory committee, Bhuvan Prasad Shrestha, said Mahendra Secondary School has been established as a central school of Gulmi district and added that its academic reputation should be strengthened further.
Mayor of Resunga Municipality Khil Dhwaj Panthi expressed dissatisfaction with the current answer sheet evaluation system. He said that although it had been projected that 10 students within Resunga Municipality would secure a 4 GPA this year, the result did not come accordingly, and pointed out the need to work harder and focus on quality education.
Mayor Panthi said the local government has not allowed any shortcomings in efforts to enhance the quality of education and expressed the view that the results of community schools have been improving in recent times.
School Management Committee Chairperson Ram Prasad Panthi wished the students a bright future and expressed confidence that the school would achieve even better academic results in the coming days. On the same occasion, teachers teaching in Grade 10 were also honored.
