Education Minister Pokharel Hands Sports Materials to Sankat Mochan Secondary School in Janakpurdham
Federal Minister for Education, Science and Sports Sasmit Pokharel handed over sports materials to students of Sankat Mochan Secondary School in Janakpurdham on Monday.
Minister Pokharel provided the materials in response to students’ complaints about the lack of sports equipment during his inspection of the school last Baisakh.
During an interaction with the students, Minister Pokharel said that sports are as important as studies for the holistic development of students. Stating that the government is committed to advancing education and sports together, he pledged to continue providing the necessary support to expand physical education and sports activities at the school level.
He also pointed out the need to appoint a sports instructor at the school.
Earlier, speaking with journalists at Janakpurdham Airport, Minister Pokharel said that the main purpose of his visit was to directly understand the problems facing the university and discuss possible solutions with the relevant stakeholders.
He said that the government was identifying the problems and working to address them through practical solutions.
Minister Pokharel also said that the report prepared to declare the province a literate province had already been submitted to the provincial government. Necessary coordination is underway for its implementation. The declaration relates to broader efforts concerning education and literacy.
Similarly, he said that the land acquisition process required to strengthen the university’s physical infrastructure would be completed soon, after which building construction would proceed.
He expressed confidence that the infrastructure development would help improve the quality of higher education and provide students with a more accessible academic environment.
