Nai Academy to Confer Vijay Malla Centenary Medals

Kathmandu, February 9, 2026 [2082 Magh 26].

Nai Academy has decided to confer the “Vijay Malla Nai Centenary Medal” on 34 individuals on the occasion of the centenary festival of the renowned Nepali language and literature creator Vijay Malla.

The medal is awarded to individuals who have contributed to the study and research of Vijay Malla’s creative works, as well as to stage productions and film making.

Nai Academy has also decided to award the medal to 34 individuals who have played a notable role in the dissemination and promotion of Malla’s creative contribution in Nepali literature and the wider field of art and literature in Nepal.

Decision and ceremony date

The decision was made in a meeting held today under the chairmanship of Nai Academy Chancellor Indira Prasai.

The medal is scheduled to be conferred at a special ceremony on March 1, 2026 [2082 Falgun 16].
