Law Ministry Invites Recommendations for Human Rights Award
Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has invited recommendations of eligible individuals and institutions for this year’s “Human Rights Award.” The Secretariat of the Human Rights Award Committee under the Ministry issued a notice on 2081 Shrawan 31 calling for recommendations.
The award is presented every year by the Government of Nepal on the occasion of International Human Rights Day to one individual and one institution that have made notable contributions to the protection and promotion of human rights. According to the notice, any individual or institution may recommend an eligible individual or institution for the award.
Recommendation Details and Deadline
Process: Individuals or institutions wishing to make a recommendation must submit the required documents in accordance with the “Human Rights Award Fund Operation Regulations, 2075” and the “Human Rights Award Distribution Procedure, 2078,” using the format specified in the schedule of the procedure.
Deadline: Recommendations must be submitted within 21 (twenty-one) days from the date of publication of the notice.
Submission Method: Recommendations may be submitted within the prescribed deadline to the Ministry at Singha Durbar or sent to the Ministry’s email address at infolaw@moljpa.gov.np to participate in the award selection process.
According to the Ministry, the “Human Rights Award Fund Operation Regulations, 2075” and the “Human Rights Award Distribution Procedure, 2078,” required for making recommendations, are available on the website of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs at www.moljpa.gov.np.
