Nepal Student Union Demands Reforms at Mahendra Multiple Campus, Nepalgunj

The Nepal Student Union (NSU) has called for comprehensive reforms at Mahendra Multiple Campus, Nepalgunj. Citing increasing irregularities, student leaders from NSU submitted a memorandum to Campus Chief Lalmani Acharya demanding immediate improvements.

Led by NSU leader Santosh Rawal (R.S.), a student delegation met with Acharya on Thursday to hand over the document.

Demands for Physical, Academic, and Administrative Improvements

The memorandum highlights the urgent need for reform across three major areas:

  • Physical infrastructure

  • Academic quality

  • Administrative management

Hostel-Related Demands

NSU has called for improvements in the campus hostel, specifically:

  • Hostel maintenance

  • Clean and reliable drinking water

  • Sanitation and toilet facilities

  • Enhanced safety and security measures

Library and Learning Resources

To improve academic support, the Union demanded:

  • Access to sufficient textbooks

  • Availability of reference materials

  • Daily newspapers

  • Digital resources

Teaching Quality and Class Management

To ensure academic quality, the memorandum emphasizes:

  • Regular operation of classes

  • Appointment of qualified teachers by subject

  • Availability of practical class facilities

  • Timely administration of examinations

Scholarship Transparency and Equity

Regarding scholarships, the Union demanded:

  • Transparent and fair distribution

  • Public announcement of clear eligibility criteria

  • Priority to financially disadvantaged yet capable students

  • Public display of scholarship details on the notice board

Campus Environment and Sanitation

For long-term campus improvement, the Union proposed:

  • Regular campus cleaning

  • Organized parking facilities

  • Weed removal

  • Tree plantation initiatives

Student Union’s Expectation from Campus Administration

NSU leaders stated they expect prompt and necessary actions from the campus administration to address these concerns.
