Nepal Veda Vidya Ashram Achieves Historic Success in SEE 2081
Nepal Veda Vidya Ashram Sanskrit Secondary School, operated under the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, has achieved historic success in this year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
Out of 14 students who appeared in the exam, 11 secured an A+ grade, and the remaining 3 earned an A grade.
As a school dedicated to the Sanskrit language and literature, Nepal Veda Vidya Ashram has set a commendable academic example by enabling over 85% of its students to score A+ and achieving a 100% pass rate.
Minister Congratulates School on its Achievement
Expressing delight at the achievement, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, extended formal congratulations to the school in a special ceremony.
During the event, Minister Pandey acknowledged the challenges of studying Sanskrit and stated, “Scoring up to 3.95 GPA in demanding subjects like Sanskrit grammar and literature is truly commendable.”
He further remarked, “This inspiring result shown by Nepal Veda Vidya Ashram signals a bright future for Sanskrit education. Students proficient in both Sanskrit and English can be relevant anywhere in the world.”
Educational Success Tied to Institutional Commitment
Minister Pandey also highlighted the performance of other institutions under the ministry, noting, “The Cultural Institute has achieved a 70% profit margin, while the academic success of Veda Vidya Ashram is a strong example of institutional commitment.”
School's Legacy of Excellence
According to Principal Keshav Prasad Adhikari, the school has maintained a 100% pass rate in the SEE for the past 10 years. Despite limited resources, he mentioned, interest in Sanskrit studies is growing among students.
Currently, classes from Grade 4 to Grade 12 are being taught. Among the 15 faculty members, 7 are part-time, and the principal himself is the only permanent teacher.
The school, operated under the Pashupati Area Development Trust, currently accommodates 109 students in its hostel, while 215 day scholars attend from outside.
Subhash Joshi, Acting Secretary of PADT, affirmed that no effort will be spared in ensuring the school’s continued academic development. He reiterated the ministry’s ongoing commitment to support the Ashram’s efforts in promoting and expanding Sanskrit education.
