NEB Class 12 Result 2082: 61.17% Students Graded

In the 2082 Class 12 examination, 61.17% of students were graded (passed). Compared to last year, this marks a 9.02% increase in students qualifying for higher education. Last year, only 52.15% had achieved a grade.

According to the results published on Monday by the National Examination Board (NEB), out of 396,347 examinees, 242,465 students received a grade. A total of 153,882 students were classified as non-graded and cannot immediately enroll in higher studies.

For students with non-graded status in up to two subjects, the grade improvement exam will be held on Bhadra 28 and 29.

In this year's SEE results published in Ashar, 62% of students (about 14% more than the previous year) had passed. However, education experts have raised concerns over this unexpected improvement, questioning whether it is due to actual learning improvement or a decline in examination standards.

Board Chairperson Mahashram Sharma stated that the shift of school-level authority to local governments has contributed to improvements in teaching culture, which may have positively influenced Class 12 results. While the regular category shows improvement, results in the partial category remain unsatisfactory.

Of the 114,640 students in the partial category, only 41,840 (36.49%) were graded. The 72,800 non-graded students in this category will not be eligible for the grade improvement exam.

These students, along with those who failed more than two subjects in the regular category, must reappear in the annual exam in the coming Baisakh.

Although regular category results show improvement, the results from Karnali, Madhesh, Sudurpashchim, Lumbini, and Koshi provinces still fall below the national average. Only the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces performed better than the national average.
