New Curriculum to Enhance CA Education in Nepal

A new curriculum is being introduced to make Chartered Accountancy (CA) education in Nepal more relevant and globally competitive.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN), the national regulatory body for the accounting profession, has developed the new curriculum in technical collaboration with ICMAI.

Phased Implementation of the New Curriculum

The newly developed curriculum will be implemented in the following phases:

  • First Level: Effective from December 2025

  • Second Level: Effective from December 2026

  • Third Level: Effective from June 2028

Aligned with International Standards

ICAN stated that the new Chartered Accountancy curriculum has been designed following the International Education Standards (IES) issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)—the global standard-setting body for the accounting profession.
