Palpa Schools Advance ISO Quality Certification

Rampur (Palpa), January 24, 2026 (Magh 10, 2082)

Schools in Palpa have begun working to maintain international-level quality. They have become active in the process of receiving quality certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

With facilitation from Global Quality Council Nepal, five schools in the district have met 25 percent of the indicators under international quality standards and received the ISO quality mark (ISO logo). These include two institutional schools and three community schools.

The schools that received the ISO logo are:

• Damkada Secondary School, Tansen Municipality

• Ganga Secondary School, Rampur Municipality

• Ramtulsi Secondary School

• Rampur Residential Secondary School

• Anand Niketan Vidyashram

Sudip Sharma, a representative of Global Quality Council Nepal, stated that 11 schools and two municipalities in Palpa district are currently in the international quality certification process. He said schools will be operated in line with international management methods, and international-level practices will be introduced within schools to maintain quality.

According to him, the certification process will be completed in phases:

1. First phase: After completing 25 percent of the work, the logo is handed over

2. Second phase: Improvement in academic activities

3. Third phase: Strengthening linkage with society

4. Final phase: Completing certification by linking with outcomes and results

The Council said it will provide necessary facilitation in schools through subject experts and quality experts.

Speaking at the logo handover program held on Friday at Anand Niketan Vidyashram, Rampur Municipality Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa said the ISO certification program would not only improve school quality but also support the development of human resources capable of competing in the global market.

He expressed confidence that it would help build an improved educational environment and contribute to the development of a progressive society. He also committed that the municipality would provide necessary support and cooperation for certification.

Education Officer Bikal Kafle stressed the need for collective support and active participation from all stakeholders to meet international standards. Devraj Devkota, the principal of Ganga Secondary School, said receiving the logo has further encouraged schools. PABSON central member Surya Prasad Ghimire said it has motivated efforts to develop Rampur as an educational hub.

At Anand Niketan Vidyashram, Global Quality Council Nepal representative Sudip Sharma handed the logo to Management Committee Chair Sukdev Pokharel and Principal Govinda Prasad Poudel.
