Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal recently addressed the importance of adhering to the academic calendar in Nepal's universities, during his speech at the 64th annual day of the Tribhuvan University Assembly. He emphasized the universities' crucial role in safeguarding the time, financial resources, and futures of students and their families.

A Call for Rigorous Adherence to Academic Calendars

In his address, the Prime Minister urged universities to formulate and strictly follow an academic calendar. This call to action comes as part of his larger commitment towards the effective administration and progression of Nepal's higher education system.

The Prime Minister is not just a political figure but also holds a significant role as the chancellor of the universities in Nepal. As such, he underlined his serious scrutiny of the academic, administrative, and academic aspects of these institutions.

The Prime Minister ended his address by highlighting the significant role Tribhuvan University, as the country's oldest and largest university, plays in leading and guiding other universities and health science institutes in Nepal. He added that the university has the responsibility to set standards in both teaching and research. The government, he assured, is always ready to extend its support in this endeavour.
