Pokhara University Approves Rs 1.54 Billion Budget

The 25th Senate Meeting of Pokhara University has approved a budget of Rs 1.54 billion along with related policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year.

The meeting, held on Wednesday at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, was chaired by Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli.

The Senate approved proposals to amend several university regulations, including:

  • Faculty and staff regulations, 2055

  • Financial regulations, 2055

  • Service commission regulations

  • Appeals Committee Regulations, 2057

Chancellor Oli emphasized the importance of operating the university in a research-oriented and competitive manner, stating that it is possible to provide world-class higher education within the country, and this goal must be meaningfully realized.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bed Raj KC presented the university’s policies and programs. He stated that the university is fully committed to utilizing available resources to provide education aligned with global market demands.

Pro-Chancellor and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Raghujī Pant called for the university to focus on producing skilled human resources relevant to the 21st century.

University Structure and Enrollment

Pokhara University currently operates:

  • 4 faculties

  • 4 constituent colleges

  • 3 joint constituent colleges

  • 58 affiliated colleges

Through these institutions, a total of 34,679 students are enrolled across 68 academic programs.
