Purnahira Secondary School Celebrates Annual Festival
Bansgadhi Municipality–8, Bardiya. The annual festival of Purnahira Secondary School in Laxmana has been celebrated in a grand manner.
A program organized on Friday on the occasion of the school’s 38th annual festival featured students presenting awareness-raising drama and dance performances.
Contribution Highlighted
Participants at the ceremony expressed good wishes, stating that local resident Binodraj Gnyawali of Laxmana made significant contributions through support and cooperation in bringing the school to its current stage.
School’s Perspective and Ongoing Challenges
Principal Gopal Subedi said the school family is happy to be celebrating the 38th annual festival while facing various obstacles and problems.
He added that there are still many challenges. Principal Subedi stated that the attraction toward technical education is declining, and increasing it remains a challenge.
Teacher Management and Technology-Friendly Classes
Principal Subedi also said the school faces another problem in teacher management. He stated that it has been difficult to pay salaries to six teachers appointed through the school’s own resources, and that due to shortages, the school has not been able to run technology-friendly classes.
Student Numbers
At present, 619 students are studying in the general stream and 19 students in the technical stream.
Background of the School’s Establishment
Because the mother of the school’s founder, late Hemraj Gnyawali, was named Purna Kumari and the mother of Dinanath Gnyawali was named Hira, Purnahira Primary School was established on Basanta Panchami on Magh 9, 2044.
It is also stated that a library was established in Kakaura through the initiative of late Hemraj Gnyawali.
Plan to Develop as a Model School
Ward Chairperson Tul Prasad Gautam of Bansgadhi Municipality–8 said efforts are underway to develop this school into the municipality’s model school.
Reflections from the School Management Committee
School Management Committee Chairperson Dinanath Gnyawali said it gives satisfaction that the school, which began from a hut, is now considered among the best in the municipality.
He said that previously there was no school in the village, and young children were forced to cross a large canal to go to study in Kakaura. He added that after that, the two brothers established a school in the village in their mothers’ names and created an environment for village children to study.
