New Building Completed at Prabha Secondary School
A new building has been completed at Prabha Secondary School located in Narachyang, Annapurna Rural Municipality–4, Myagdi.
The three-storey building was constructed by Annapurna Rural Municipality with a federal government grant of nearly Rs 40 million.
Contract and Completion
The construction company signed the contract agreement in 2080 for Rs 38,418,907.
According to Tej Gurung, Chairperson of the School Management Committee, the construction company completed the building within the stipulated deadline, by Poush 2082.
Building Features and Budget Details
The earthquake-resistant building has 16 rooms.
Chairperson Gurung stated that construction work had been halted after the federal government did not allocate a budget under the Special Grant heading in fiscal year 2081/82. The project was completed after the remaining Rs 18.4 million was allocated in the current fiscal year.
Payment Issue Raised by Contractor
Although the building was completed on time, the contractor has complained of not receiving payment due to the government not releasing the budget.
For the project, which has spent Rs 20 million so far, the budget allocated for the current fiscal year has not yet been released.
Purpose of the New Building
The new building was constructed to support teaching and learning for the Electrical Engineering program being run at Prabha Secondary School.
School Profile and Impact
The school provides education up to Grade 12 and has 165 students.
Principal Durgalal Roka said that teaching and learning have become easier after the completion of the new building.
