Shree Purnamrit Bhawani Secondary School, located in Phulbari, Waling-10, Syangja, has expressed serious concern over what it describes as an unauthorized notice posted by the Armed Police Force (APF) on the school gate regarding the acquisition of land registered in the school's name.

In a press statement issued on Kartik 13, 2083 BS, Principal Dipak Lamsal objected to the land acquisition notice posted on the school gate by Armed Police Force No. 30 Company Headquarters on Kartik 11.

Disputed Land and Background

According to the statement, the Armed Police Force No. 30 Company Headquarters is currently stationed on land registered in the school's name in Ward No. 8 of Waling Municipality. The land, identified as Plot No. 482, has an area of 28-5-2-1, and the school holds the land ownership registration certificate.

On Bhadra 5, 2083 BS, a large gathering of stakeholders was held at the assembly hall of Waling Municipality to collect opinions and suggestions regarding the land.

The school stated that it remained open to discussions on the decisions made during that gathering. However, it expressed concern that the Armed Police Force suddenly posted a land acquisition notice while discussions were still possible.

School's Position and Future Plans

Considering Waling's growing population and future educational needs, the school plans to develop a child-friendly park on the land and introduce technical subjects such as medicine and engineering for teaching and learning.

Referring to the Education Act, 2028 BS, and the Education Regulations, 2059 BS, the school stated that the School Management Committee and other stakeholders have a primary responsibility to protect the school's movable and immovable property.

The school has demanded that arrangements be made to ensure that its property is used for educational activities while also making appropriate arrangements for the Armed Police Force.

The school has clarified that any decision concerning the land must involve the consent and cooperation of the School Management Committee, the Parent-Teacher Association, and other concerned stakeholders.

It has urged the authorities to make decisions with restraint and without disrupting children's learning environment.

The school has also warned that if the concerns raised in its press statement are disregarded, the concerned authorities will be responsible for any resulting consequences.

School Background

Established in 2016 BS with support from donors, Shree Purnamrit Bhawani Secondary School currently provides education from early childhood development to Grade 12.

The school offers programs in Education, Management, Science, and Crop Science.

According to the statement, the school currently has 816 students and 54 teachers and staff members.
