Dr. Gokul Prasad Burlakoti, former Chairperson of the Debt Recovery Tribunal, has been appointed Chairperson of the Tribhuvan University (TU) Appeal Commission.
According to Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Yogendra Bahadur Gurung and Dr. Kavita Raj Paudel (Khati) have also been appointed as members of the commission.
The appointments were decided during a general meeting of the Tribhuvan University Assembly held on Asoj 22, 2083 BS, under the chairmanship of Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel, who also serves as the university's Pro-Chancellor.
According to the university, the Office of the Vice-Chancellor issued appointment letters to the newly appointed chairperson and members only on Monday due to the Dashain festival and public holidays.
The appointments were made in accordance with Rule 108 of the Tribhuvan University Teachers and Employees Service Regulations, 2050.
The Appeal Commission is responsible for hearing various administrative and legal cases and appeals involving the university's teachers, employees, and students.
