New Leadership Selected for Pokhara Academy: Saraswati Lalchan Appointed Chancellor
Pokhara Metropolitan City has selected the chancellor, vice-chancellor, member-secretary, and members of the Academy Council and Academy Assembly of Pokhara Academy.
Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya appointed the newly selected office-bearers and assigned them their respective responsibilities.
The Metropolitan City stated that the appointments and nominations were made in accordance with the Pokhara Academy Act, 2076 (Second Amendment, 2082).

Academy Management and Statements from Office-Bearers
Speaking at a programme held after the appointments, Mayor Acharya expressed confidence that the Academy’s activities would make an important contribution to the development of literature, arts, culture, language, and the broader academic sector within Pokhara Metropolitan City.
He said that a well-organized office had been established institutionally at “Pokhara Ghar” to ensure the Academy’s effective operation. He also stated that the necessary legal provisions and budget had been arranged.
Pokhara Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Manjudevi Gurung similarly expressed confidence that the Academy’s active role would support the development of creativity and culture within the city. She said the Metropolitan City would provide the necessary support and facilitation.
Newly appointed Chancellor Saraswati Lalchan ‘Pratiksha’ expressed her commitment to fulfilling the assigned responsibilities with integrity. She said the office-bearers would work with dedication for the development and advancement of Pokhara’s academic sector and would establish Pokhara Academy as a model academy.
