Satyawati Schools to Operate on Public Holidays
Schools within Satyawati Rural Municipality in Gulmi will remain open even on public holidays. According to Acting Chief Administrative Officer Netra Prasad Pandey, schools will operate on Ashoj 3 (Constitution Day), Ashoj 4 (Saturday), and Ashoj 6 (Ghatasthapana).
Pandey stated that this follows the decision of the Teachers’ Federation, Satyawati Rural Municipality, dated Baisakh 28, to compensate for learning loss caused by school closures during the educational movement led by the Teachers’ Federation last Baisakh.
To make up for the loss, the Teachers’ Federation, Satyawati, decided to run schools for six days: three days from annual leave and three days from public holidays.
According to Logaraj Giri of the municipality’s Education Section, there are 35 schools in the municipality—32 community and three institutional—with about four thousand students.
