Sophia School Distributes Medals and Certificates to 2,800+ Students

Sophia Residential English School in Nepalgunj distributed medals and certificates to more than 2,800 students who won in various events during its annual sports day.
Principal Suresh Gurung said all students of the school were included in different sports competitions, and medals and certificates were awarded to those who secured first, second, third, and consolation positions.
All Students Included in Sports Events
Gurung stated that every student was assigned to participate in at least one game, and awards were distributed based on the positions they achieved. He said medals, shields, and certificates were provided accordingly.
Due to the scale of participation, the school said its 21st annual sports day ran from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Chief Guest Highlights Sports Beyond Fitness
Chief guest Prashant Bista, Mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, said sports are not only a means of physical fitness, but also a way to learn discipline, leadership, and social responsibility.
He added that he was pleased to see Sophia English School balancing education and sports while ensuring participation of all students in sports activities.
Parents and School Officials Comment on the Event
Among the parents present, Samad Siddiki of Nepalgunj-1 said involving all students in sports and distributing medals and certificates to so many students was a significant achievement.
Chief Executive Officer Sushila Basel said the sports competition, along with the colorful PT drill and group dance performed by hundreds of students at the same time, drew appreciation from the parents, guests, and journalists present.
She said the event was made successful through months of preparation and effort by teachers, students, and management. The program was held under the chairmanship of School Management Committee Chairperson KB Basel.
