Dr. Deepak Prakash Bhatt, the outgoing member of the House of Representatives, who played a vital role in establishing the university, attended a discussion in Dhangadhi on Monday to talk about the future course of action. He emphasized the need to press for the necessary law to run the university, search for Sudurpashchimerners who teach medicine at home and abroad, and create an environment to teach medicine.

Agitated Lokraj Pandey demanded the removal of confusion regarding the operation of a medical college or university, although most of the physical structures have been built. The government has taken an important step by declaring the university of health sciences, and it should be implemented soon along with action directions.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda conducted an on-site study of the university on February 13, 2023. The Ministry of Health and Population and the House of Representatives have yet to make the necessary laws for the operation of the University of Health Sciences, but the Prime Minister has been giving assurances that the work will be done quickly.

As there is no medical college in the Sudurpashchim, citizens are striving to create an environment to run a medical college under the National University of Health Sciences. It is essential to make the necessary laws to ensure the smooth operation of the university, bring old hospitals under the Ministry of Education, and new hospitals under the Shahid Dashrath Chand National University of Health Sciences.
