The British College and CAN Federation Sign Agreement for Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter 2026
The British College (TBC) and the Computer Association Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) have signed a strategic partnership agreement (MoU) for the Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter 2026. The agreement was signed with the objective of connecting young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to a global platform and building a strong startup ecosystem in Nepal.
According to the agreement, CAN Federation will serve as the Strategic Organizing Partner of this global competition. The agreement was signed by Rajan Kandel, Group CEO of The Kandel Group and The British College, and Chiranjeevi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation and Founder and CEO of One Cover Pvt. Ltd.
Through this collaboration, the aim is to bring together innovative ideas spread across Nepal and help establish them commercially. Under the strategy of making entrepreneurship nationwide rather than limiting it to the Kathmandu Valley, special competitions will be held in different provinces to identify local-level startups. In addition, Nepali entrepreneurs will be facilitated with experienced industry leaders, successful businesspersons, technical experts, and domestic and foreign investors.
During the agreement, Rajan Kandel, Group CEO of The Kandel Group and The British College, said that innovation and entrepreneurship are key drivers of Nepal’s economic prosperity. He stated that this partnership would provide Nepali startups with a strong national platform to access mentorship, investment, and global opportunities.
Similarly, Chiranjeevi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation, mentioned that CAN Federation has been dedicated to the development of Nepal’s information technology and innovation since its establishment. He said this collaboration would provide Nepali technology entrepreneurs with a historic opportunity to showcase their capacity on an international platform.
Competition in Silicon Valley and Opportunity for USD 1 Million Prize
Organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures in more than 60 countries worldwide, Startup World Cup is one of the world’s largest and prestigious startup competitions.
Under this, the winner of the Startup World Cup Nepal Chapter will represent Nepal at the Global Grand Finale to be held in Silicon Valley, the renowned technology hub of the United States. There, the winner will compete with global-stage leaders and get an opportunity to win an investment prize of USD 1 million, equivalent to more than around Rs. 130 million.
The program is stated to help turn the ideas of Nepali youth into business models, create employment through technology-based startups, and help energize the digital economy. It is also expected to play an important role in promoting “Brand Nepal” by showcasing Nepali technology, software, and the technical capacity of young people in the global market.
