Balkhu, Kathmandu | March 17, 2026 (2082/12/03 BS) - The Curriculum Development Center of Tribhuvan University has canceled the degree equivalency granted to two individuals for academic qualifications obtained from a foreign educational institution. The center made the information public through an official notice published on March 17, 2026 (2082/12/03 BS).
According to the notice, the equivalencies of Amir Kumar Sharma of Dhanusha District, Madhesh Province, and Om Prakash Bista of Jhapa District, Koshi Province, have been revoked. They had obtained the degree of Master of Business Administration in Hospitality Management from Britts Imperial University College in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The center had previously granted them equivalency under decisions dated March 20, 2025 (2081/12/07 BS; Ref. No. 14977) and March 28, 2025 (2081/12/15 BS; Ref. No. 15310). However, questions were later raised regarding the legal status of the institution.
On February 4, 2026 (2082/10/21 BS), the center had published a 35-day notice asking them to submit their clarification, along with any documents proving the institution’s legal status and its authority to award the degree. Since no response was received from them within the stipulated time, action was taken.
