Press Council of Nepal, Media Development Fund Notice regarding application for research paper and internet facility

Since the Media Development Fund under the Press Council Nepal will provide scholarships at the rate of Rs. 25,000 for post-graduate students studying journalism. This notice has been published for the information of all the students who have passed at least second class up to the second semester of the postgraduate level who want to write a research paper in the mentioned subject and apply for the scholarship within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice in Press Council Nepal Sanchargram Tilganga. The issue of the journalist code of conduct will be given priority.

Details to be attached with the application:

A) Recommendation letter of the concerned campus and approved a proposal for writing the research paper.

B) Action plan for writing a research paper in the application and necessary estimated expenses.

C) A copy of the certificate of passing the second class till the second semester of the postgraduate level.

For internet access:

With the objective of assisting in the development and expansion of journalism, the Press Council Nepal Media Development Fund has approved a policy of providing a maximum grant of up to Rs 20,000 to the most remote areas and Dalits, women, minority communities, also disabled and low-income journalists doing an internet connection.

For this, the media should have been in regular operation for at least 3 years and in case of a journalist, it should have done regular journalism for at least 5 years.

This facility will not be available to the media and journalists who have not completed 2 years of action for violating the Code of Conduct for Journalists. Since such grants will be provided to a maximum of 2/2 journalists from 7 states in a year when such funds are provided; It is advised to submit the application within 30 days of the publication of the notice along with the documents including the bill to be certified as mentioned above and the recommendation of the Federation of Nepali Journalists.
