Nepal Army, Recruitment Selection Directorate, Jangi Adda Call for Applications for Officer Cadet Position: The Nepal Army invites applications to fill the vacant officer positions (Assistant Captain/Sub-Captain) through an open and inclusive competition. 4. Application Fee:
All candidates are required to fill out the form under the open category and must pay a fee of Rs. 1,000/- (One Thousand). However, if a candidate applies for more than one group under the inclusive category in the same advertisement, an additional 20% fee will be charged for each additional group.
(a) For candidates applying at the Recruitment Selection Directorate, Jangi Adda (Central Recruitment Selection Center, Swayambhu), the mentioned fee must be deposited by the candidate themselves at any branch of Nepal Bank Limited within Kathmandu. The account number is 001010000000001001001 (Office Code: 345013513 and Revenue Title No: 14224). The original voucher along with one copy (1/1) must be submitted with the application form.
(b) For candidates applying at the Primary Recruitment Centers, the mentioned fee must be paid in coordination with the respective recruitment center.
5. Required Qualifications:
(a) Educational Qualifications:

- Educational Qualifications:
(a) Must have passed Certificate Level or equivalent (for Officer Cadet).
(b) Must have passed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (for Graduate Officer Cadet). Candidates applying for both Officer Cadet and Graduate Officer Cadet must have taken Mathematics as a compulsory subject in the SLC/SEE examination.
Remarks:
(a) For certificates issued before the implementation of the Letter Grading Directive, 2078, the minimum required GPA is 2/CGPA 1.6 or higher, and no subject should have a grade lower than D+.
(b) For certificates issued according to the Letter Grading Directive, 2078, the minimum GPA required for Class 12 is 1.6 or higher, and the original certificate must be obtained. This grading system applies as follows:
(1) For candidates applying for the Officer Cadet position with Certificate Level or equivalent qualification.
(2) For candidates applying for the Graduate Officer Cadet position with Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
(c) The basic military training period for Graduate Officer Cadets will be 12 months.
(b) Physical Requirements:
Height:
- Men: Minimum 5 feet 3 inches
- Women: Minimum 5 feet
Chest (for Men only):
- Minimum 32 inches (unexpanded) and 34 inches (expanded)
Weight:
- Men: Minimum 50 kg (110 pounds)
- Women: Minimum 40 kg (88 pounds)
Eyesight:
- For candidates using glasses, the eyesight must not be weaker than ±2 in both eyes.
(c) Additional Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be deemed fit through a health examination.
- Must not have been convicted by a court for any criminal offense leading to moral turpitude.
- Must not be a member of any political party at the time of application.
- Must not have been involved in or engaged in any criminal activities.
- Must not be a member of any organization with destructive objectives.
- Must not have been convicted of espionage against Nepal.
- Must not have been convicted of violating human rights or humanitarian law.
- Must not have been dismissed from service in a way that disqualifies the candidate from future government service.
In addition, candidates must meet any other qualifications as mentioned in the "Military Service Regulations, 2069."
6. Age Limit:
(a) For candidates with Certificate Level or equivalent educational qualifications, the candidate must be at least 18 years old and not older than 21 years as of the last application date, 2081/06/05.
(b) For candidates with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educational qualifications, the candidate must be at least 18 years old and not older than 24 years as of the last application date, 2081/06/05.
(c) For serving military personnel, the candidate must not be older than 26 years as of the last application date, 2081/06/05.
7. For Serving Candidates of the Nepal Army:
(a) Candidates who are currently serving in the military must have completed basic military training. Additionally, they must have completed a minimum service period of 2 years by the last application date, 2081/06/05.
(b) A recommendation letter from the unit commander must be submitted.
8. Required Documents to be Submitted:
Candidates must submit copies of the following documents, certified by themselves, in a Nepali file, with 1 copy each. Documents that are scratched or contain double writing will not be accepted. All original documents must be brought along when submitting the application.
(a) Nepali Citizenship Certificate.
(b) SLC/SEE mark sheet, character certificate, and original/provisional certificate.
(c) Transcript (mark sheet), character certificate, and original/provisional certificate of Certificate Level (10+2).
(d) For those who have passed the Bachelor's level, transcript (mark sheet), character certificate, and original/provisional certificate.
(e) For candidates who obtained their degree from boards or universities other than Nepali universities, a certificate of equivalence determined by Tribhuvan University must be submitted.
(f) Any other certificates of achievement (extracurricular activities) and certificates related to various subjects, if available, apart from educational qualifications.
(g) For the children of Nepali soldiers who became physically disabled or lost their lives during military service or duty, the following additional documents must be submitted, certified by the candidate themselves:
(1) A certified copy of the inclusion in the list of those requiring support published by the Directorate of Ceremony Management or a copy of the pension document (pension patta) mentioning that the soldier died in the line of duty or became disabled.
(2) For current soldiers, a copy of the recommendation letter from the Medical Board as per Rule 107 of the "Military Service Regulations, 2069."
(3) A certified copy of the document proving the relationship with the concerned candidate.
9. Photograph:
Candidates are required to submit 4 (four) recent passport-sized photographs with a clear full-face view (including both ears), with the same appearance in each photo. Male candidates must have a clean-shaven face and short hair. Additionally, 1 (one) 2X2 sized photograph must be submitted with the application.
10. Contact Date:
Candidates must report to the respective recruitment center where they submitted their application on 2081/06/15 at 1100 hours.
11. Selection Process:
(a) The selection process includes a bearing and preliminary health examination, physical test, IQ test, written exam (conducted by the Public Service Commission), aptitude tests (TO, GTO, IO, and Board Conference), detailed health examination, and a board interview. Detailed criteria for the bearing examination can be viewed in the advertisement on the website.
(b) For candidates who submit their applications at the Primary Recruitment Centers, the selection process, from bearing to the written exam, will be conducted at the respective Primary Recruitment Center where the application was submitted. The remaining exams will be conducted at a location designated by the Recruitment Selection Directorate, Jangi Adda.
12. Salary, Allowances, Ration, and Other Benefits:
As per the prevailing rules and regulations of the Nepal Army.
13. Other Conditions:
(a) Individuals employed by the Nepal Government or other semi-government organizations must submit a departmental approval when applying.
(b) Candidates applying under the inclusive category can only compete in one community among Indigenous/Janajati, Madhesi, or Dalit. However, this restriction does not apply to women. Candidates from backward regions (both male and female) can also apply and compete under the backward region quota.
(c) Female candidates will be included in the Nepal Army's units involved in Combat-Related Duties/Combat Support/Combat Service Support, excluding Direct Combat Duties/Close Combat Roles (direct engagement in frontline combat).
(d) Candidates (excluding currently serving personnel) must be unmarried, and they will not be allowed to marry during the training period.
(e) Applications can only be submitted from one recruitment center for the same position under the same advertisement number.

(c) While filling out the online application form, candidates will first enter basic details such as age, educational qualifications, and citizenship. Only if the candidate meets the minimum required qualifications based on these details will they be allowed to proceed to fill out the remaining forms. After that, candidates must fill in their personal details, family details, and educational details in Nepali Unicode Kalimati font. The application form, admission card, and voucher for revenue fee payment must be downloaded in PDF format, saved, and printed.
(d) The printed application form must have a photo and a postage stamp affixed, and the applicant's signature must be included. This form must be submitted at the selected recruitment center within the specified deadline. Candidates must submit the printed form in person within the first 30 days of submitting the online application form. If a candidate submits the online application but fails to submit the printed form, the online submission will not be considered valid.

The positions under the inclusive group, including the positions lost during Fiscal Year 079/80, will be filled according to the prevailing laws, taking into account the ratio of positions in the inclusive group as per the legal arrangements made after complying with the required legal provisions. This notice is published for the purpose of filling positions as per the prevailing laws.
