Call for Applications for Military and Various Trade Followers Posts

Nepal Army, Directorate of Recruitment Selection, Jangi Adda, announces a call for applications to fill vacant military and various trade followers posts (Bandobasti Karya Sipahi – {BaKaSi}, tailor, cleaner, cobbler, blacksmith and barber) within the approved positions of the Nepal Army through an open competitive process.

Eligible and interested Nepali citizens may, for military posts, fill in the online application form through the official portal of the Nepal Army Recruitment Selection Directorate at http://vacancy.nepalarmy.mil.np, print the form and personally submit it at the designated recruitment selection centre.

Alternatively, candidates may themselves be present at the recruitment selection centre, fill in the application form there, affix a ticket of Rs. 10 (ten) and submit the application.

For various trade followers posts, candidates are called upon to be present in person at the recruitment selection centre, fill in the application form, affix a ticket of Rs. 10 (ten) and submit the application.

Call for Applications

Nepal Army invites applications from eligible and interested Nepali citizens to fill vacant posts through inclusive and open competition. Candidates must fill up the online application form from 2082/09/28 and submit the printed copy of the form in person at the prescribed recruitment center. The online application form can be filled from the official website of the Nepal Army: www.nepalarmy.mil.np

3. Date and Place for Submitting the Application Form

(a) Application period:

From 2082/09/28 to 2082/10/27, and with double fee from 2082/08/28 to 2082/01/04 for an additional 7 (seven) days. Applications must be submitted within office hours during this period.

(b) Public holiday on last date:

If the last date for submitting the application form with single or double fee falls on a public holiday, the examination fee (revenue) may be deposited and the application form registered on the next working day on which the office is open.

(c) Place:
The recruitment selection center prescribed in the notice that is convenient for the applicant.

4. Application Fee

All candidates must compulsorily fill the form under the open category. A fee of Rs. 150 (one hundred and fifty rupees only) shall be paid for the Military Post and Rs. 100 (one hundred rupees only) for the various Trade Follower posts.

However, if a candidate applies for one or more inclusive groups under the same advertisement number, an additional 20% fee shall be charged for each inclusive group.

The specified fee must be deposited in the name of the recruitment selection center where the candidate is applying (filling in the office name, office code, bank account number, and revenue title number). The original bank voucher and one photocopy (1/1) must be submitted together with the application form by the candidate in person.

5. Required Qualifications

(A) Minimum educational qualification

Military (Sainya)

Must have passed class 8 (eight). Applicants who have passed class 9 (nine) must also compulsorily submit the educational qualification certificate of class 8 (eight). Applicants who submit the educational qualification certificate of SLC/SEE or a higher level are not required to submit the class 8 (eight) certificate, but they must submit copies of all educational qualification certificates, including SLC/SEE and all higher levels.

(a) For certificates issued before the enforcement of the Letter Grading Directive, 2078:

(1) In the case of the class 8 (eight) pass certificate, a minimum GPA of 2 is compulsory, and no subject shall be lower than D+.

(2) For applicants who submit certificates of SLC/SEE or higher educational qualification, among the submitted certificates, the highest educational qualification certificate must have at least GPA 2 / CGPA 1.6, and no subject shall be lower than D+.

(b) For certificates issued as per the Letter Grading Directive, 2078:

(1) For the educational qualification of class 8 and SEE, a minimum GPA of 2 or above is required, and the original certificate must have been obtained.

(2) For the educational qualification of class 12, a minimum GPA of 1.6 or above is required, and the original certificate must have been obtained.

(c) The grading arrangements mentioned in points (a) and (b) shall apply only to the prescribed minimum educational qualification or to higher educational qualifications where such grading systems are specified.

(B) Physical qualification

1. Military

Male:

(a) Height: minimum 5 feet 3 inches

(b) Chest: minimum 32 inches normal, and minimum 34 inches when expanded

(c) Weight: minimum 50 kg (110 pounds)

Female:

(a) Height: minimum 5 feet

(b) Weight: minimum 40 kg (88 pounds)

2. Various trade followers

Male:

(a) Height: minimum 5 feet 2 inches

(b) Chest: minimum 30 inches normal, and minimum 32 inches when expanded

(c) Weight: minimum 50 kg (110 pounds)

Female:

(a) Height: minimum 4 feet 10 inches

(b) Weight: minimum 40 kg (88 pounds)

3. If spectacles are used, eyesight must not be weaker than +2.

(C) Other qualifications

Candidates for the mentioned posts must have been found medically fit, must not have been punished by a court for any criminal offence involving moral turpitude, and must not currently be a member of any political party. They must not be involved in or have been involved in any criminal activity, must not be a member of any organization having destructive objectives or have been such a member, must not have been punished for espionage against Nepal, must not have been punished for violation of human rights or humanitarian law, and must not have been dismissed from service in a manner that renders them ineligible for future government service.

For other qualifications, the provisions mentioned in the “Military Service Regulations, 2069” and the “Recruitment Selection Directive, 2071” shall apply.

6. Age limit

The age of candidates, as of the last date for submitting the application form (2082/08/27), must be as follows:

Military

• Must have completed 18 years and not exceeded 22 years of age (date of birth from 2060/08/28 to 2064/08/27).
• In the case of serving Nepal Army candidates, they must not have exceeded 26 years of age (those whose date of birth is 2056/08/27 or later).

Various trade followers

• Must have completed 18 years of age and not exceeded 26 years of age (date of birth from 2056/08/27 to 2064/08/27).

7. For serving Nepal Army candidates

(a) As of the last date for submitting the application form (2082/08/27), the candidate must have completed a minimum of 1 (one) year of service.

(b) A recommendation from the Unit Chief must be submitted.

8. Documents to be submitted with the application

Copies of the following documents must be self-attested by the candidate, kept in a Nepali file, and submitted at the rate of 1 (one) copy each. Certificates that are erased, altered, or overwritten will not be accepted. Candidates must also bring the original copies of all documents submitted with the application.

(a) Nepali citizenship certificate.

(b) Mark sheets, character certificates, and original/provisional certificates of all educational qualifications.

(c) In the case of candidates who have obtained degrees from boards or universities other than schools/universities of Nepal, an equivalence certificate issued by the Curriculum Development Centre or Tribhuvan University.

(d) Any other certificates obtained besides educational qualifications (extra-curricular activities) and certificates related to various subjects, if any.

(e) For sons/daughters of Nepali soldiers who have become physically disabled due to injuries sustained during military training or performance of duty, and of Nepali soldiers who died in the line of duty, the following additional documents must be self-attested and submitted by the concerned candidate:

(1) One certified copy showing either that the candidate’s name is included in the list of beneficiaries published by the Ceremony Directorate, or that “killed in action/died in the line of duty/disabled” is mentioned in the pension entitlement document (pension letter).

(2) In the case of serving soldiers, one copy of the recommendation of the Medical Board as per Rule 101 of the “Military Service Regulations, 2069”.

(3) One copy of the relationship certificate with the concerned candidate.

9. Photographs

The candidate must submit recent photographs of the same type, clearly showing the full face (including both ears), as follows, together with the application form.

(a) Passport-size photographs: 4 (four) copies.

(b) 2 x 2 size photograph: 1 (one) copy.

10. Contact date and place

On 2082/09/11 at 11:00 hours, at the respective recruitment selection center where the application form was submitted.

11. Selection process

(a) Military post:

Under the selection examination, there will be wearing and preliminary health examination, physical test, written examination (to be conducted by the Public Service Commission), detailed medical examination, and interview.

(b) Various trade follower posts:

Under the selection examination, there will be wearing and preliminary health examination, physical test, practical examination (except for the BaKaSi post), detailed medical examination, and interview.

(c) The standards for wearing and physical examinations for the Military and various trade follower posts can be viewed in the advertisements uploaded under “VACANCY & REQUIREMENTS” on the official portal http://vacancy.nepalarmy.mil.np.

(d) The selection examinations of candidates will be conducted at the respective recruitment centers.

12. Salary, allowances, ration, and other facilities

These will be as per the prevailing rules and arrangements in the Nepal Army.

13. Other conditions

(a) Employees working in the Government of Nepal or any other semi-government organization must compulsorily mention their present employment status in the application form and submit a departmental approval letter at the time of application. If this is not done, the application and all related examinations will be cancelled.

(b) In the case of male candidates under the inclusive category, they may compete under only one of the communities among Indigenous/Janajati, Madhesi, and Dalit. This provision shall not apply to women. In addition, male or female candidates from backward areas may also apply and compete under the backward area quota.

(c) In the case of women, they will be included only in those bodies of the Nepal Army that perform Combat Related Duties/Combat Support/Combat Service Support (providing service and support from the rear to forces directly engaged in battle), and not in those bodies of the Nepal Army that perform Direct Combat Duties/Close Combat Role (going to the front line during war and directly engaging in combat).

(d) Candidates (except serving military personnel) must be unmarried, and in the case of the Military post, they will not be allowed to marry during the training period.

(e) An applicant may submit an application to only one recruitment selection center for the same advertisement number and for the same post.

14. Information regarding filling the online application form

(a) Visit the official portal http://vacancy.nepalarmy.mil.np and click on “Apply Online”.

(b) While filling the online application form, the following details must be entered in Nepali Unicode. In addition, scanned/digital copies of the candidate’s photograph, Nepali citizenship certificate, educational certificates, and the voucher of the paid revenue fee are mandatory.

(c) While filling the online application form, the minimum prescribed qualifications related to age, educational qualification, and citizenship must first be entered and validated. Only after they are valid will the candidate be able to proceed to the remaining sections of the form.

(d) After entering/uploading the required details and documents, the scanned/digital copy of the revenue payment voucher must be uploaded, the application submitted, and then the candidate must download the application form, admission card, and revenue voucher containing the submitted details, save them in PDF format, and print them.

(e) The candidate must paste a photograph and a postage stamp on the printed application form, sign it, and submit it to the chosen recruitment selection center within the prescribed date.

(f) If any candidate submits the application form online only, but does not submit the printed copy of the form to the recruitment selection center, such an application submitted only online will not be recognized.

(g) If there are any technical difficulties while filling the online application form, the candidate may express the difficulty by going to “Request for Help”. 15. Special notice

In accordance with the mandamus order issued on 2079/10/24 by the Honourable Supreme Court in writ petition no. 078-WO-0382 and other related petitions, in which the Nepal Army, Recruitment Selection Directorate, Directorate of Military Personnel, Jangi Adda, Kathmandu, etc. were made respondents, this notice has been published at present for the purpose of filling posts as per the prevailing law, with the understanding that, after making the necessary legal arrangements regarding inclusive groups, provision will be made as per the law to also compensate for the loss incurred, including the posts that were actually lost from fiscal year 079/80 onwards due to not being included under the inclusive groups in proportion to the ratio of posts falling under inclusive groups out of the total posts to be maintained.
