The UNDP Nepal is seeking applications from qualified and result oriented Nepalese for following assignments:

Job title: National Consultant - TVET Financing Expert

  • Project/Cluster: Support for Knowledge and Lifelong Learning Skills (SKILLS) Programme 
  • Duty Station: Lalitpur,'Nepal

Key responsibilities:

The purpose of the assignment is to assess overall costs for imparting TVET education and financing of TVET services and a comprehensive study on TVET financing and its fund-flow and cost-sharing mechanisms between the three levels of governments in Nepal.

Required qualification and experience:

Completion of Ph.D. Degree in Public Policy, TVET related subject or any other relevant area from a reputed university. At least 15 years of relevant work experience in the management and TVET professional programmes and services in Nepal or elsewhere. Strong background in training, education, and research, and thorough knowledge of Nepal's TVET development initiatives, policies, programmes, and mechanism of services are deemed essential for this position. Knowledge of and experience in working with government ministries, the private sector and development agencies/partners will add value. Good knowledge of statistical tools and analytical skills. Advanced computer application skills, data management, reporting and presentation skills are essential for the functions of the job. Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.

  • Duty Station: Lalitpur, Nepal

Key responsibilities:

The consultant will provide support in the hotter understanding of context, needs, and existing and planned initiatives to be taken by the Skills programme to implement in line with the recommendation with Ministry of Finance and the scope of work under the Skills programme.

Required .qualification And experience:

Completion of Master's Degree in Public Policy, TVET related subject or any other relevant area from a reputed university. At least 7 years of relevant work experience in the area of TVET research, professional programmes, and services in Nepal or elsewhere. Strong background in research, education and thorough knowledge of Nepal's 'FVET development initiatives, policies, programmes and mechanism of services are deemed essential for this position. Knowledge of and experience in working with Government ministries, the private sector, and development agencies/partners will add value.  Good knowledge of statistical tools and analytical skills.
