New Light College

New Light College, established in 2064 BS (2007 AD), is located in Tilottama Municipality, Shankarnagar, Butwal, Rupandehi. The college runs higher secondary and bachelor-level programs. At the bachelor level, it is affiliated with Tribhuvan University and offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS). At the +2 level, under the National Examinations Board, it offers Ten Plus Two (+2) Management, Ten Plus Two (+2) Humanities, and Ten Plus Two (+2) Education.

The college provides a learning environment supported by academic and student facilities such as a library, computer lab, multimedia resources, classrooms with projectors, conference hall, counseling support, scholarships, journal activities, educational tours, and extracurricular activities. Campus facilities also include a basketball court, volleyball court, cafeteria, and health desk.

At the TU level, B.Ed and BBS are four-year annual-system programs. The B.Ed program falls under the Faculty of Education, while BBS is offered under the Faculty of Management. Annual examinations and results follow TU rules and the applicable academic calendar. At the NEB level, the +2 programs follow the two-year structure for Class 11 and Class 12 under NEB rules, guidelines, and the annual calendar.

New Light College also offers scholarship support. Students may receive up to 100 percent scholarships for strong academic performance, school-topper status, sports achievement, and support categories for backward groups. Girls are also offered a 50 percent discount on the admission fee.

In +2 Management, the key subjects highlighted include Hotel Management, Computer Science, Business Studies, Finance, Major English, Major Nepali, and Major Maths. These subject areas provide students with a broad introductory base for further study in business, management, and related fields.
