School of Health Science was established in 1997 at Bharatpur-10, Chitwan. The school is located in Bagmati Province and is accessible by road and air transport. Its location is approximately 180 km southwest of Kathmandu.

The campus premises were originally the Institute of Medicine ANM campus in Bharatpur. The Republic of Korea, through the Korean International Cooperation Agency, renovated the premises. The renovated campus was inaugurated on 4 February 1997 and dedicated to the Government of Nepal on 2 December 1997. KOICA also provided teaching-learning materials, equipment, and other physical facilities during the establishment period.

The school began instructional activities on 1 March 1997 with 50 students in PCL in General Medicine. From 1997 to 2005, it was managed through joint cooperation between CTEVT and Korean NGOs. The school is now managed by a School Management Board chaired by the Chief District Officer of Chitwan.

Candidates who passed SEE or SLC from government or community schools receive 1 additional weightage mark. Candidates from institutional schools receive 0.85 additional weightage mark.

Eligibility Criteria

For examinations before the letter grading system, applicants must have passed SLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized educational institution with compulsory Mathematics, English, and Science. Applicants may also qualify through the relevant Technical SLC or Pre-Diploma level program conducted by the Council with 68.33 percent marks of the total full marks.

For examinations after the letter grading system, applicants must have taken compulsory English and Science in the entrance or SEE examination from a recognized educational institution and secured a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 overall, or equivalent. Applicants may also qualify through the relevant Technical SLC or Pre-Diploma level program of the Council with 68.33 percent marks of the total full marks.
