Certificate in Diagnostic Radiography at Asian College for Advance Studies, Lalitpur
The Certificate in Diagnostic Radiography was introduced at Asian College for Advance Studies, Satdobato, Lalitpur, in 2018 as a CTEVT-affiliated technical health program. In October 2022, ACAS transferred this program, together with its other CTEVT programs, to its sister organization, Shankarapur Academy Pvt. Ltd.
Certificate in Diagnostic Radiography is a three-year Proficiency Certificate Level program under the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). It follows a yearly system and combines foundational science, radiography theory, imaging-related subjects, patient care, radiation safety, and extended clinical practice.

Eligibility and Admission
Applicants may enter after passing SLC with second division or SEE with a minimum GPA of 2.0, including Compulsory Mathematics, English, and Science. Admission may also follow provisions stated in the applicable CTEVT admission guidelines.
Candidates must pass the entrance examination administered by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, CTEVT. The curriculum requires at least 90% attendance in each subject to appear in the respective final examination.
Course Structure
The first year provides the science and academic foundation for later radiography study. It includes subjects such as English, Nepali, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Third-Year Clinical Training
The third year places greater emphasis on applied radiography. Students study Basic Radiographic Pathology and Clinical Practice and Ethics before undertaking Radiography Practical I and Radiography Practical II.
Radiography Practical I runs for 21 weeks, while Radiography Practical II runs for nine weeks.
Clinical work includes routine and supplementary radiographic techniques involving the upper and lower limbs, thoracic cage, abdomen, spine, and skull. Students also learn patient positioning, equipment handling, radiation protection, request-form procedures, communication, workplace safety, and methods for reducing radiation dose to patients.
The curriculum places the third-year practical component in hospitals, health institutions, and imaging centres recognized by the concerned authority.

The program is structured to develop competence in routine radiography and assistance during special X-ray examinations. It also covers:

The CTEVT curriculum identifies graduates as eligible for positions equivalent to Non-gazetted First Class/Level 5 technical posts, or as prescribed by the Public Service Commission and related agencies. It also connects professional registration with provisions of the relevant council legislation.
