The BBS program follows the TU annual examination system. Final examinations are conducted by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University.
Students must have at least 70 percent attendance in the classes actually held to qualify for the annual examination. A student cannot appear in the second-year final examination without first appearing in the first-year final examination. The grading divisions are 35 percent for Third Division, 45 percent for Second Division, 60 percent for First Division, and 75 percent for Distinction.
In the fourth year, final project work is compulsory. Students complete field-based study in an organization, prepare a project report, and undergo evaluation that includes internal and external review along with viva-voce procedures.
