Course Objectives

The BBS program is designed to provide students with conceptual knowledge of business and administration and a general management perspective. It also supports the development of practical skills, professional responsibility, entrepreneurial capacity, and preparation for higher study in management.

The curriculum introduces students to economic analysis, accounting, business law, statistics, communication, finance, marketing, organizational behavior, taxation, entrepreneurship, and research. Students later select a concentration area and complete a final project.

Eligibility

Applicants must have successfully completed 10+2 in business or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a board or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University. They must also meet any additional entry requirements prescribed by the Faculty Board or Chaumala Multiple Campus.

Course Structure

The BBS program extends over four academic years. Students complete compulsory courses, core business courses, concentration subjects, business research methods, and a final project.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The program may use lectures, group discussions, problem-solving exercises, guest lectures, practical work, project work, and case-based instruction. These methods connect theoretical study with organizational and business situations.

At Chaumala Multiple Campus, the Management Department has seven teachers. The campus has 190 students enrolled in the BBS program.

Students also have access to campus resources that include library services, textbooks, educational materials, newspapers, a computer laboratory, free Wi-Fi, sports materials, transportation on selected routes, and a Tribhuvan University examination center arrangement.

Attendance, Examination, and Grading

Student evaluation is conducted through annual examinations administered by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University.

Students must maintain at least 70 percent attendance in the classes held to qualify for the annual examination. They must pass theoretical, practical, and project components separately where these components apply.

Final Project Work

The final project is an essential fourth-year academic requirement. Students undertake four weeks of fieldwork in an organization during the period fixed by the campus.

After completing the fieldwork, students prepare a project report in the format prescribed by the Faculty of Management. The report may include a classroom or faculty presentation. Evaluation involves internal and external examiners, followed by a viva voce conducted through the concerned campus research committee.

Chaumala Multiple Campus has campus-level fee support linked to academic performance. The provisions include a 100 percent monthly fee discount for students with a GPA above 3.21 at the +2 level and a 50 percent discount for those with a GPA above 2.81.

Students securing first and second positions in the entrance examination receive monthly fee discounts of 50 percent and 25 percent respectively. Scholarships are also available through the University Grants Commission and Gauriganga Municipality for poor and meritorious students.
