Course Structure
The B.Ed. program is a four-year annual program designed under TU’s Faculty of Education. The course requires students to complete 22 courses carrying a total of 2200 marks. Its structure includes communication skills, professional core courses, specialization major courses, specialization minor courses, and teaching internship or practicum.
The communication skills group includes General Nepali and General English. Professional core areas include Philosophical and Sociological Foundations of Education, Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Evaluation, and one elective subject such as Instructional Technology or ICT-related courses in education. The program also includes specialization-based study through major and minor subject areas, followed by teaching practice in the final year.
Eligibility, Admission, and Examination
Eligibility: Students who have passed Higher Secondary Education, Grade 12, Proficiency Certificate Level, or an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply. Admission eligibility also depends on the selected specialization subject, as prescribed by TU’s Faculty of Education.
Admission generally follows campus and TU procedures. Eligible applicants submit the prescribed form and required academic documents after the admission notice is published. Academic registration, examinations, and results follow TU rules, guidelines, and the applicable academic calendar.
For the annual system, final examinations are conducted by Tribhuvan University through the Office of the Controller of Examinations. Teaching practice or practicum is included as an academic requirement of the program.
