Eligibility for Admission
Applicants may qualify for admission through either of the following academic routes:

At least a D+ grade in every subject studied in Grade 11 and Grade 12; or

Completion of an intermediate, Proficiency Certificate, or 10+2 qualification in Humanities, Science, or Management from Tribhuvan University or another university or board recognized by Tribhuvan University.
Some major subjects have additional entry conditions.
Students wishing to study Major English or Economics may be required to complete the relevant subject requirement at the Grade 12 or Proficiency Certificate level. Applicants who have not previously studied the required subject may need to pass it within the period specified by Tribhuvan University.
Students from different Grade 12 or Proficiency Certificate subject backgrounds may apply for major subjects such as Rural Development, Social Work, and Sociology. Applicants seeking Journalism and Mass Communication as a major are required to have studied Journalism or Mass Communication at the Grade 12 or Proficiency Certificate level.
Assessment System
The BA program combines written examinations with internal assessment.

Internal assessment may include a mini-project, classroom presentation, teamwork, and other academic activities prescribed for the subject. This structure assesses both examination performance and participation in course-based academic work.
Academic Focus
The BA curriculum brings together language study, social sciences, cultural studies, and humanities subjects. The two-major structure enables students to study more than one academic discipline throughout the degree.
Depending on the selected subjects, students may study social institutions, language and literature, economic issues, communities, population, politics, geography, history, communication, development, or cultural studies.
