The first three years consist mainly of compulsory and core courses. In the fourth year, students select a concentration area and complete research and project components.

First Year

The first year establishes the basic academic foundation for business studies. Students study:

  • MGT 207: Microeconomics for Business

  • MGT 211: Financial Accounting and Analysis

  • MGT 213: Principles of Management

Second Year

The second-year courses introduce further concepts related to communication, economics, accounting, organizational management, and finance:

Eligibility for Admission

Applicants must have successfully completed 10+2 in business or commerce, or an equivalent course from Tribhuvan University or another board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University.

Candidates must also meet any additional entry requirements prescribed by the Faculty Board or Kanchan Multiple Campus.

Attendance and Evaluation

Student evaluation is conducted through annual examinations administered by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University.

Students must maintain at least 70 percent attendance in the classes conducted to qualify for the annual examinations. A student cannot appear in the second-year final examination without first appearing in the first-year final examination.

The annual examination grading divisions are:

  • Third Division: 35 percent

  • Second Division: 45 percent

  • First Division: 60 percent

  • Distinction: 75 percent

Students must pass theoretical, practical, and project components separately where these components apply.

Final Project Work

Final project work is a compulsory part of the fourth-year curriculum. Students undertake field-based study in an organization and prepare a report following the format prescribed by the Faculty of Management.

The project may include a classroom or faculty presentation. It is assessed by internal and external examiners, and students may be required to attend a final viva voce examination. The project carries 50 marks.
