Lubhoo Secondary School, locally known as “Pathshala,” is located in Mahalaxmi Municipality-8, Lubhoo, Lalitpur.
It offers a Diploma in Civil Engineering under the affiliation of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
This three-year program began in 2018 AD and is open to students who have completed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Each year, 48 students are admitted, with four seats reserved under a scholarship quota. The course fee structure follows CTEVT's official policy.
The course structure follows CTEVT’s national curriculum, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Over six semesters, students cover structural mechanics, engineering drawing, building construction, surveying, hydropower, water supply systems, and road engineering. The program's key components are practical sessions, fieldwork, and laboratory-based tasks.
This program prepares mid-level technicians for the public and private construction sectors. It focuses on strengthening foundational knowledge in civil engineering and building technical confidence through applied learning.
Graduates with a Diploma in Civil Engineering can pursue entry-level positions in construction firms, infrastructure projects, government engineering departments, or consultancy services.
Many students continue their education in bachelor-level engineering programs in Nepal or abroad.
By the end of the course, learners are expected to:
Interpret and prepare engineering drawings and project plans
Conduct land surveys using modern tools and methods
Apply material testing techniques and quality control procedures
Support the planning and execution of infrastructure projects
Work in compliance with national construction standards and safety norms
Hands-on modules cover essential tools, instruments, and techniques. Training is provided in:
AutoCAD and technical drawing software
Concrete and soil testing methods
Site supervision and documentation
Construction planning and estimation
The course combines classroom instruction, lab practice, group projects, and on-site visits. Teachers follow structured lesson plans based on CTEVT standards and encourage students to participate in real-world learning.
Applicants must have passed the SEE and qualify through the entrance examination conducted by CTEVT. Selection is merit-based.
