• Science Education: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, each carrying at least 100 full marks

• Health and Physical Education: A background in Health and Physical Education or specified related disciplines; applicants without this background must pass a physical-fitness entrance test

• Population Education: Previous study in one of the specified subjects, including Population Studies, Geography, Economics, Science, Mathematics, Community Health, Nursing, or Commerce

• Geography, Economics, Political Science, and History Education: Grade 12, PCL, or an equivalent qualification from any faculty

Most minor subjects are open regardless of the applicant’s previous Grade 11, Grade 12, or PCL study area. Biological Science as a minor is reserved for students majoring in Physical Science.

Teaching Practice and Learning Focus

Teaching practice is completed during the fourth year. It allows students to connect their study of educational foundations, curriculum, evaluation, subject content, and teaching methods with classroom practice.
