BBS Program Overview
Tribhuvan University’s BBS program is designed to prepare students for managerial responsibilities in organized sectors. It provides conceptual knowledge of business and administration while developing practical abilities required to understand organizations and management practices.
The curriculum covers language, statistics, economics, business law, communication, accounting, financial management, taxation, marketing, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, and research. It also gives students an opportunity to study a selected functional area in greater depth during the final year.
Course Structure
The BBS curriculum extends over four academic years. Each year carries 500 marks, bringing the complete program to 2,000 marks. Students complete 19 courses carrying 1,950 marks and submit a final project worth 50 marks.
First-year study builds a foundation through Business English, Business Statistics, Microeconomics for Business, Financial Accounting and Analysis, and Principles of Management.
The second year covers Business Communication, Macroeconomics for Business, Cost and Management Accounting, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, and Fundamentals of Financial Management.
Third-year courses include Business Law, Foundation of Financial Systems, Business Environment and Strategy, Taxation in Nepal, and Fundamentals of Marketing.
In the fourth year, students study Entrepreneurship, three concentration courses, Business Research Methods, and a Final Project. The campus identifies Marketing Science, Finance, and Accounting as its management subject areas.
Project Work and Banking Internship
Final project work is an essential part of the fourth-year curriculum. Students undertake field-based study in an organization, prepare a project report in the prescribed format, and may be required to present their work before faculty members or examiners.
Rauleshwar Janta Aadarsh Multiple Campus also arranges banking internships for BBS students. This arrangement gives students exposure to banking operations and allows them to connect classroom study with an organizational setting.
Eligibility and Admission
Applicants must have successfully completed 10+2 in business or commerce, or an equivalent qualification from a board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University. Candidates must also meet any additional entry requirements prescribed by the Faculty Board or the campus.
Evaluation and Graduation
Student evaluation is conducted through annual examinations under Tribhuvan University. Students must maintain at least 70 percent attendance in the classes actually held to qualify for the annual examination.
To receive the BBS degree, students must pass all required theoretical, practical, and project components separately, complete the prescribed courses, and submit the final project within the time limit set by Tribhuvan University.
Learning and Academic Facilities
BBS students have access to classrooms, Wi-Fi, alternative power supply, audio-visual teaching equipment, a computer laboratory, library resources, supplementary classes, and extracurricular activities. These facilities support classroom instruction, independent study, presentation work, research, and project preparation.
The program can provide an academic foundation for work connected with business, banking, accounting, finance, marketing, administration, entrepreneurship, and public-sector organizations. Graduates may also continue to higher studies in management and related disciplines.
