Who Is This Course For?
The MBA is suited to students who want postgraduate study across different areas of management rather than concentrating on a single business function from the beginning.
The curriculum involves accounting, marketing, economics, finance, operations, communication, research, information technology, strategy, and organizational management. Students also work with presentations, case studies, term papers, seminars, and thesis research.
Semester-wise Course Structure
The first semester carries 16 credits. Students study Marketing for Managers, Communication for Managers, Accounting for Managers-I, Legal Framework of Business, Decision Sciences, and one elective.
The second semester carries 19 credits and includes Accounting for Managers-II, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, Economics for Managers, Financial Management, Operations Management, Seminar I, and one elective.
In the third semester, students complete 16 credits through Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprises, Research Methodology and Thesis Proposal, Information Technology Management, an elective, Seminar II, and two specialization courses.
The fourth semester carries 18 credits. It covers International Business, Strategic Management, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility, Seminar III, two additional specialization courses, and a five-credit thesis.
Elective Courses
Students select one course from each elective group:
-
Elective I: Principles and Contemporary Practices of Management or Introduction to Computing
-
Elective II: E-commerce and Digital Marketing or Introduction to Public Relations
-
Elective III: Organization Design and Change or Project Management
These choices allow students to add computing, communication, organizational, digital marketing, or project-management study to the core curriculum.
Specialization Areas
Students select one specialization area and complete four courses from the available subjects within that area.
| Specialization: | Selected study areas: |
|---|---|
| Marketing | Marketing research, brand management, sales, retailing, service marketing, CRM, and advertising |
| Finance | Financial reporting, capital structure, investment management, financial institutions, and derivatives |
| Human Resource Management | Team building, conflict management, industrial relations, training, talent, and performance management |
| Operations and Supply Chain | Inventory, warehousing, procurement, network design, supply-chain management, and facility location |
The specialization courses are placed across the third and fourth semesters.
Assessment and Examination
English is the medium of instruction and evaluation. Theoretical courses are assessed through 50 marks of internal assessment and a 50-mark semester-end examination.
Internal assessment includes:
-
Class tests: 15 marks
-
Attendance: 10 marks
-
Presentations, assignments, case studies, and class activities: 15 marks
-
Term paper: 10 marks
Students must secure at least 20 out of 50 in internal assessment to appear in the semester-end examination. The semester-end examination has a pass mark of 20 and a duration of three hours. Attendance below 80 percent results in the student being marked not qualified for the examination.
Learning Focus
The course develops management understanding through analytical assignments, financial and operational decision-making, communication practice, case analysis, research, seminars, and thesis preparation. Its combination of core study and specialization allows students to build broad managerial knowledge while completing advanced work in one selected area.
