The Diploma in Forestry at Shree Secondary School, Ashwara, is a three-year technical program affiliated with CTEVT, Nepal.
This course is designed for SEE graduates aiming to develop professional skills in forest management, conservation, and community forestry. With a total of 40 seats, it equips learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical field training to address contemporary challenges in natural resource management.
Three-year curriculum based on the yearly system
Strong integration of fieldwork through the Work Experience Program (WEP)
Emphasis on forest policy, community-based management, and ecological conservation
Medium of instruction: English and/or Nepali
Maximum group size: 40 students
The curriculum is structured across three academic years:
First Year: Foundational subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics, English, and Computer Applications.
Second Year: Core forestry modules such as Silviculture, Community Forestry, Soil and Water Conservation, Wildlife and Protected Area Management, and NTFPs.
Third Year: Advanced subjects like Forest Management, Policy and Law, Extension Education, Entrepreneurship, and a dedicated Work Experience Program (WEP).
Prepare skilled forestry technicians (Rangers) for government and non-government roles.
Promote sustainable forest practices through community participation
Support self-employment and entrepreneurship in forestry-related sectors
Graduates can work in the Department of Forests, NGOs, community forest groups, or pursue higher studies in BSc Forestry.

Biodiversity and wildlife conservation
Forest surveying and measurement
Soil conservation and agroforestry
Policy interpretation and community engagement
SEE with minimum C in two subjects and D+ in one (English, Science, or Math)
Or TSLC in Forestry with 67%
CTEVT entrance examination clearance
Eligible for Non-Gazetted First Class technical roles (Ranger level) or further academic study.
Scholarships are available through merit-based rankings and recommendations from the CTEVT and local governments.
