Celebrating National Information and Communication Technology Day on May 2

National Information and Communication Technology Day (National ICT Day) is being celebrated with various programs. National Information and Communication Technology Day is celebrated every year on 2nd of May for the purpose of developing and promoting information and communication technology in the country.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is going to organize a special ceremony today with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' as the chief guest. In the same ceremony, there is a program to give awards to the best among individuals and organizations who have contributed in the field of information and communication technology.

Along with agriculture, tourism, and energy, the government has accepted information technology as the main basis of economic prosperity and has been implementing various programs for its development and promotion. Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the government is planning to transform the socio-economics of the country through the development and use of information technology. He told the government that with the belief that the basis of prosperity can be prepared through information technology, the government has moved forward with determination for the development of this sector.

"Earlier we used to call agriculture, tourism and energy as the basis of prosperity, recently information technology has also been added, there is a belief among the youth that the nation can be led on the path of development by making maximum use of communication and information technology and there is an enthusiasm that something should be done for the country", Minister Sharma said. , “The government is active with the aim of facilitating this.
