People in the Christian community are celebrating Merry Christmas Day today to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. Two thousand and twenty-one years ago today, on December 25, Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, Israel.

According to CB Gahatraj, President of the Nepal Christian Federation, Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary, gave three main joys. In the belief that he gave salvation, love, and peace, the Christian community celebrates this day as all three days.

He said that the day was celebrated as a day of love for people, a day of peace for peace and a day of salvation. Christmas Day celebrated by many people around the world; In Nepal, after 2063 BS, the federation started celebrating as a festival.

On the occasion of the day, a public holiday was given from 2063 BS to 2074 BS. On this occasion, from 2075 BS to 2077 BS, only Christians were given leave. This year, everyone has been given a public holiday.

The federation claims that there are currently 3 million Christians in Nepal. The federation has been saying that more than 13,000 churches have been built. A Christmas Festival 2078 has been organized by the Federation Main Ceremony Committee at Nepal Pragya Pratisthan on Saturday afternoon. Chairman Gahat Raj said that government representatives and human rights activists would be present in the program.

Lately, Christmas trees are being decorated in major places of major cities. It is especially designed to attract foreign tourists from the Christian community. Last year's Corona epidemic reduced Christmas activity. As the flow of tourists has started this year, the tourist area of ​​Thamel, Boudha, Pokhara, Sauraha and other places have seen more Christmas.
