Devendra Gautam Journalism Award to Be Given on February 13
Kathmandu, 2082 Poush 2 — The Devendra Gautam Journalism Award Committee has decided that, from this year onward, the Devendra Gautam Journalism Award will be presented every year on February 13, on the occasion of late Gautam’s birth anniversary.
Previously, the award used to be presented on late Gautam’s memorial day. However, this tradition has been changed following the initiative of Pradeepa Gautam, Chairperson of the Current Media and Research Center and the spouse of late Gautam.
“Saying we find it more appropriate to remember his life and contributions as a celebration rather than on a memorial day. With the aim that the values Gautam upheld and the spirit of journalism remain alive, the award will now be presented on his birth anniversary from this year,” Chairperson Gautam said.
Devendra Gautam Journalism Award–2026
The Devendra Gautam Journalism Award–2026 will be presented to senior journalist Kishor Shrestha, Editor-in-Chief of Jan Aastha Weekly and Vice President of the World Press Council, in recognition of his long-term and distinguished contribution to Nepali journalism.
