Eid al-Fitr

On the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, the great festival of the followers of Islam, President Vidyadevi Bhandari has given her best wishes. Wishing Eid on Tuesday, she said that diversity is the identity and strength of Nepali society.

On the auspicious occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, the great festival of the followers of Islam, I would like to express my heartfelt best wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all the Nepalese followers of Islam at home and abroad. The Eid message said, "Eid has helped to further strengthen the existing culture of tolerance and cooperation in a diverse Nepali society."

According to Bhandari, the tradition of giving alms in the Islamic community as well as the practice of receiving blessings from the people on the occasion of Eid and exchanging happiness with each other reflect the strong human side inherent in Nepali culture. He believes that Eid will help preserve and promote the original culture and traditions of the Islamic community.

Stating that diversity is the identity and strength of Nepali society, she said, "Our constitution has provided equal opportunity to all by uniting the various castes, languages, religions, and cultures in the country in a single chain of unity." It is the common duty of all of us to promote Nepali nationalism and national unity by assimilating this sacred spirit of the constitution.

She wished that Eid would strengthen the spirit of national unity and cultural solidarity in Nepal and provide inspiration for building a civilized, prosperous and prosperous society.

What is done on Eid?

At the beginning of the festival day, many Muslims attend Eid prayers in their mosque.

It is customary to wear new clothes when going to the mosque. Similarly, sweet food, dates, or sweets are eaten. And, a short prayer called Takbir is said.

Before the Eid prayer, Muslims must make a mandatory donation, also known as Zakat al-Fitr. It is customary to give zakat for food to the poor.

Elderly devotees also give money called Eid to children or family members younger than themselves. Eid al-Fitr is a public holiday in many countries, including Nepal. It is customary to say Eid Mubarak when wishing good luck on the occasion of Eid.

Eid is celebrated in Saudi Arabia a day earlier than in Nepal. Similarly, Eid is celebrated on Sunday in Afghanistan. Eid will be celebrated in India on Tuesday as in Nepal.

Eid is one of the biggest festivals celebrated according to the Islamic calendar. Eid is celebrated at the end of the month of Ramadan in which fasting and prayers are performed till the end of the month. Eid ul-Fitr also means the end of the fast.
